Charles Macklin School was established to highlight the life and work of this playwright and actor who was bom in Gortmam, near Culdaff in approximately 1690 The first Macklin School was opened in 1990 by internationally acclaimed author and playwright, Brian Friel who remains its patron.
A weekend festival of events incorporating drama performances, workshops, storytelling and music. The festival provides a platform for art exhibitions and cultural tours and talks. Well established event held in attractive, lively village.
