Overview The Buncrana Shore-path is a traffic free walk which follows the shoreline of Lough Swilly between Buncrana and Stragill Strand. It is a gently undulating path which passes quiet beaches, old forts and a number of sites of historic interest. Wildlife is abundant and the views in all directions are superb.
Location Starts in Buncrana and extends north along the shore of Lough Swilly to the sandy beach at Stragill Strand.

Landscape Excellent coastal views of Lough Swilly. The horizon is dominated by the Fannad Peninsula. Vegetation is predominantly coastal heath and rough grazing.
Trailhead There are two trailheads for this walk:
1. Town shorefront adjacent to car parks
2. Stragill Strand with minimal parking on grass/beach edge
Other intermediate options are at Castle Bridge and Ned’s Point. There are Mapboards at Castle Bridge, Ned's Point and Stragill Strand
