Doagh Visitor Centre - Lapland

If you are aged 6 or 66 the aim of this project is to convince the unconverted. Arrive at least 15 minutes before booking time, present tickets at reception, then proceed through the tunnel in to larger building, which takes the form of a cinema. When the show starts the elf appears from behind the curtain and explains the story of Christmas. The children watch a star as it moves across the building. When it stops, curtains open. Behind are Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus along with a donkey in a stable. The elf explains how Santa got involved in the Christmas. Santa then makes his appearance, coming down the chimney. He knows each child's name and has a present for each one. When presents have been distributed everyone moves out to Santa's village where they can see Santa's home and what he eats for breakfast, and visit the elves bedroom. They can go to Santa's office where they can personally place an order for Christmas This popular centre is also known as The Famine Village during the Summer and attracts thousands of visitors from far and near. You will need to book well in advance for Lapland. Local hotels offer special packages for visitors. Lapland usually runs from
25th November until 23rd December.
